Dr. Jennifer Monzones

About Jennifer Monzones, Ph.D., ABPP

Dr. Jennifer Monzones established Tierra Alta Neuropsychology to provide professional, compassionate, and accessible neuropsychological evaluation services for adult patients in Santa Fe, northern New Mexico, and beyond. She is a board-certified clinical neuropsychologist, certified by the American Board of Professional Psychology, with over a decade of experience working with patients and their families.

Dr. Monzones was born and raised in Southern California and completed a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of California, San Diego. She pursued a dance career in New York City before returning to further academic studies; completing her doctoral degree in clinical psychology with a neuropsychology emphasis from Fordham University in New York City. She met her husband, a New Mexican, while in NYC, and they moved to New Mexico where Dr. Monzones completed both an internship and postdoctoral residency at the New Mexico VA Health Care System and University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center.

Prior to owning and providing neuropsychological services at Tierra Alta Neuropsychology, Dr. Monzones was an attending neuropsychologist at the Center for Neuropsychological Services at UNM Hospital, where she also supervised postdoctoral residents in her role as Assistant Clinical Professor for the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at UNM. Dr. Monzones’ interests include the interplay between sociocultural factors and cognition, the cognitive effects of HIV, as well as, dance and other performance arts, travel and world cuisine, reading, and spending time outdoors with her family, friends, and furry companions.
